Flowerhorn fish is a great fish for those who are looking for unique fish. Those all who purchase fall in love with Flowerhorn fish.

Flowerhorn fish is a result of hybridization between different South American chichlids. The Flowerhorn was developed in Malaysia during the second half of the 1990s.

Flowerhorn fish is easy to care, but it will need to be good sized aquarium. It will appreciate some rocks to hide behind but will spend most of its time out in the open. Have plenty of open space for swimming.

Flowerhorn fish is best kept singles a show fish. This fish is not a community fish; it is territorial and very aggressive. Even your hands are fair game and its bite can hurt. 

Flowerhorn fish eat large appetite. So be sure they are getting enough food. They can eat all kinds of live, fresh, and frozen foods of high quality. Feed high quality cichlid pellets, frozen bloodworms, earthworms and feeder guppy enhanced supplements. Feed 2 to 3 times a day. It helps with maintenance if you avoid foods that pollute the tank's water.

Flowerhorn fish need a minimum of 55 gallons tank for one will be needed.

The Flowerhorn fish is a rewarding specimen for the hobbyist as it is very hardy and easy to keep as long as the aquarium is large enough. Do water changes of 25% biweekly or 50% weekly. They are subject to infections as well as other diseases that ail all freshwater fish. Ich is easily treated with an elevated temperature of 32° C for a few days. Intestinal disease can be treated with metronidazol.

Water pH level must be between 80 - 89° F (27 - 32° C).
