The Oscar Cichlid has an oval shaped body and large thick lips. Oscar cichlid is a popular cichlid among and an intelligent creature that will interact with the hobbyist. 

With proper care and attention, an Oscar fish can turn into a true pet. When you put your hand in tanks it might swim on your hand in water.

Oscar Fish are mostly in dark colored with some orange around the gill area and on the sides towards the back, and an orange-ringed black spot at the base of the caudal fin. There are many varieties of color Oscars. They can be Tiger Oscar, Albino Oscar, Copper Oscar, Lemon Oscar and all black Oscar.

Water pH level must be between 6.5 and 7.1. Frequent water changes must be performed for a healthy Oscar Fish.

Oscar Fish must be kept in a large aquarium. As they grow faster so they need more space in aquarium.

Oscar is known to be hungry eaters. Feed Oscar with variety of diet such as adult brine shrimp, frogs and beef heart. Many pellets & flake foods are available in aquarium shops which are more nutritious for Oscar Fish.
